Most people use the word “nostalgia” when they hear about raw milk or the milkman because it reminds them of a long-ago era. You may be surprised to know that raw milk was readily available in the USA and even administered in hospitals, as recently as 21 years ago. The American Association of Medical Milk Commissions (AAMMCC) certified clean, safe pastured raw milk from 1893-1999 for general market distribution and for medical therapeutic treatment! This very same raw milk was also administered in hospitals to treat chronic diseases, cardiovascular disease, renal disease, liver disease, hypertension, edema, asthma, arthritis, tuberculosis, and diabetes [1, 2, 3] because it was recognized for it’s medicinal benefits in infants, children and adults [4].

Dr. Charles Porter MD published his book Milk Diet as a Remedy for Chronic Disease to articulate his raw milk diet regimen after treating 18,000+ patients over 27 years. Dr J.E. Crewe MD, one of the founders of the Mayo Foundation (today the Mayo Clinic), successfully used raw milk in his medical practice 18+ years, and is famously known for stating “results obtained in various types of disease have been so uniformly excellent that one’s conception of disease and its alleviation is necessarily changed… When sick people are limited to a diet containing an excess of vitamins and all the elements necessary to growth and maintenance, they recover rapidly without the use of drugs and without bringing to bear all the complicated weapons of modern medicine” [2].

We’ve posted many excerpts from both Dr Porter and Dr Crewe’s books over the last 12yrs on our social media pages and in our emails to you. Today I’m happy to share with you a copy of the documented Dec 1925 Proceedings of the 29th Annual Meeting of the United States Live Stock Sanitary Association. It was 1925, when doctors performed their own unbiased research then wrote and published their own papers, and then self circulated their findings amongst other doctors, hospitals and medical schools. The protocol today is vastly different; research is paid for and performed by the pharmaceutical industry which then typically compensates a physician to John Hancock the findings and then uses the study to propel the drug amongst the medical and university communities.

Let us always be grateful for medicine, there is a place for it and especially in dire emergencies, but let us also not forget that pharma studies native activity in nature, to copy and patent it. I’m saying, can I get an Amen for all the lovely cows that prance around and nibble pasture in order to provide us with divine raw milk aka “white blood” (per Dr Crewe)?!

You may find Dr Crewe’s study Use of Milk in the Treatment of Human Disease on pages 93-98.
