Raw Goat Milk
Goats are active browsers and foragers, and gifted with nimble, split upper lips which enables them to be selective of smaller plants with higher protein and digestibility. But unlike the cow which ruminates at great length, a goat's gastrointestinal tract holds food for a much shorter period so any food provided as a supplemental diet, matters much.
Alday Farm is Florida's only goat dairy that has always offered organic alfalfa 24/7/365. During milking, each lovely lady can enjoy a custom blend of organic whole grains, peas and oats. While organic hay (grass) has become difficult to come by of late, nonGMO will be substituted however corn, soy, cottonseed (nor meal, hull, oil), shall never pass these goats' lips!
Raw Goat Milk is natively lower in lactose, of milder (A2) casein proteins, smaller lipase-friendly fat globules yet slightly higher density in EFA's compared to pastured raw cow's milk (double in comparison to homogenized/pasteurized cow milk). But what makes this goat milk exceptional is the Alday family's husbandry practices and stewardship. Not all raw goat milk is the same, just because it originates from a goat!
Each goat is registered and fully tested/negative for CAE, CL and Johnes.
Store this raw goat milk inside the fridge but not the door where it's warmer. Ideal temp is 30°-32°. The colder your raw goat milk, the longer before it begins to ripen and sour. If you transfer the milk into your glass jars, it will chill colder and prolong the time before it ripens.
